There's an old saying that goes :

"good News is no News...."

Which is precisely why there is so much "news" about:

• rising levels of carbon dioxide
  
  
• the greenhouse effect
  
  
• the rate of global warming
  
  

The fact is, such "news" stories as we highlight here will be part of a daily torrent of "bad news". Why?

Because such stories are:

a) most-often "real"  in that these things actually are taking place  and

b) they're more often negative = bad = "good news" for papers, publishers and editors

And the actual, honest,  "good news" in all of this?

Well, increased awareness is a great first step - remember CFC's and the Ozone layer??

And the best news is that we can all take action.

Indirectly through better habits.

And directly by offsetting our emissions - the sort of direct action that wasn't available a mere 10 years ago.
